Organ Printer exhibit


I designed the engineering behind the fabrication of the Organ Printer exhibit. It simulates the building process of the actual 3D printer used in Dr. Gabor Forgacs lab Professor of biophysics at the University of Missouri; http://www.fastcompany.com/100/2010/80/gabor-forgacs. His research is focused on the physical mechanisms in cell and developmental biology. In particular the study of experimental computer modeling.

This is the finished tactile sculpture designed for hands on exploration. It is the healing stage of a developing vascular structure.
